Acts 2 in Virginia Beach

Casual ~ Contemporary ~ Family-Friendly ~ Spirit-Filled

Our mission is to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ: whether that means unbelievers, unchurched individuals, or committed Christians who should be continually growing in their devotion to Christ. Jesus is central to our very existence. We want to focus on His issues each day and in every way. He is what we are all about.  Led by Pastor Bill Heffelfinger, Acts 2 Church offers ministries for people of all ages and walks of life who are looking to strengthen their relationship with Christ.  We are currently a small, close-knit church family, but we are open to growth and to extending that family to others who need a place to belong.

Acts 2 Church was established as a charismatic Baptist church in Virginia Beach, VA in 1995 from a church plant by Bayview Baptist in Norfolk. We are still loosely affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention,  but you will find that in many ways we have the feel of a nondenominational church.

With only one service on Sunday mornings, our ministry focus is on small groups (life groups), which take place at various homes throughout the week. In this way we are doing life together. We also meet occasionally on Tuesdays evenings as a church family for dinner, otherwise known as Together Tuesday, and for a variety of other activities and outreaches and activities as scheduled.

Our casual Sunday service includes worship, fellowship, sermon, prayer, and children's ministry during the sermon time. We hope that after you look through our website and attend a worship service, you will consider becoming a part of our solid community of faith.

Together in Life

Relationships are special in this church. Facebook is fun. Twitter connects. However, we see no replacement for the old-school, face-to-face, getting together, retro relationships. Community is important to us. Through each other, we get to know Jesus in a better and more in-depth way. Our life groups, also known as small groups or cell groups, provide a framework for all that we do. It's Together in Life. It makes life... good.
